Alive and kicking

Oops! It seems that I forgot all about this wonderful little community! The member-base has certainly grown since I last ventured in here for a look.

Hello to all the new members and people who've ventured in here from the land of Livejournal and other places!

Hopefully in the next few weeks, we'll have some actual discussion happening in here :o)

I'm a little curious as to what everyone thinks of moblogging? I had a little wander around www.textamerica.com and found some rather fascinating little moblogs.

If you have a moblog, post the url in here as I'd love to check it out!

I find audio blogging seems intriguing at first. Almost everyone I have seen use it (4 or 5 people) only used it once or twice so maybe it is not that great.

There are a few things that make it unappealing to me, and I
      suspect to most geeks...
It's not searchable -- one big plus about blogs is that there are
tools that can take you to related blogs, and even google works
      if they don't...
It's hard to quote other people's stuff
Many of us read a lot faster than we can listen anyhow
Like many geeks, I think I have a goofy voice
I don't like the idea of lugging a mike around..

For the most part, it's best to have audio entries as an option (like LiveJournal's phone entries) but not make a service based off of it. It's something that can be a lot of fun for random times, or with a group of friends, but only good for actual blogging if you don't feel like typing.
