Where do you house your blog?
For example, do you have your blog hosted on severs like blogspot or is it set up on personal server space?
If you are not on a blog-dedicated server, what type of software do you use to post your blog?
Reason: I first started blogging in May at Blogspot using Blogger software. That was an EXCELLENT way to start - free, nearly dummy proof, nice templates!
However, this week I moved to my own server space and domain and will be using WordPress software. It is more complicated but my options have multiplied greatly.

Re: Blogging tools and servers
Sat, June 26, 2004 - 9:47 PMI've had blogs on weblogs.com, blogspot, livejournal, dudecheckthisout, self-hosted using MT, self-hosted using own software. Self-hosting obvious opens up the world to you, but you'll find yourself spending a great more time configuring your blog and a lot less time blogging, or so my experience goes. For me, that doesn't matter, cause iM a tech enthusiast and want to experience it all. But if you just want to blog, then blogspot, livejournal and dudecheckthisout (I helped code this) are your best options.

Re: Blogging tools and servers
Thu, July 29, 2004 - 3:25 AMI have my own serverspace with wordpress running on it.
It is true, this gives you much more freedom and flexibility, but on the other hand you're soon busy desiging, configuring or even writing plugins or hacks. And much less with writing. And if you don't want to get involved in that kinda thing you'd probably are better off with blogspot or typepad or whatever there is out there.
But if you are interested in webdesign and stuff, you own domain and serverspace is your only option
