Hey fellow Bloggers. I am doing some research regarding what ethical concerns bloggers should or do have. I posted two questions on my blog at myjunto.blogspot.com (a few days ago) and I am hoping a few bloggers might share their opinion.
Many Thanks!

Re: BLOG ETHICS? What are they?
Thu, November 4, 2004 - 2:56 PMThanks Randy....
Yup.
Venting prevails.....but there are a few out there that are trying to achieve something. I am interested in "what line they won't cross" in achieving it.
Peace Out

Re: BLOG ETHICS? What are they?
Thu, November 4, 2004 - 7:52 PMLetme throw out a hypothetical. Many bloggers (especially political bloggers) will link to Mainstream media stories, or as in my own case, think nothing of grabbing images off of news sites and posting them. If I think of myself as "Critiquing" the media, keeping them honest like in the Dan Rather incident..does that give me some sort of "public-service" mandate?? -

Re: BLOG ETHICS? What are they?
Fri, November 5, 2004 - 6:16 AMWell, images can be a costly bandwidth item and copyright issues around Internet images is up in the air. That said, if the image is hosted by the big press, then I freely blog the images hosted on their server, but I always link that photo back to the original (or at least I try). If the image is hosted by another blogger, then I usually make a mirror on imageshack.us.
Other bloggers tend not to be as sane as myself and freely blog images hosted on other bloggers computers w/out any link going back to the source.
I understand this was just an example. -

Re: BLOG ETHICS? What are they?
Fri, November 5, 2004 - 8:03 AMCool, Thanks. I have to confess I never thought of linking photos back to their source (I am a rookie). I am going to start doing that now.
Peace,
Martin

Re: BLOG ETHICS? What are they?
Fri, November 5, 2004 - 8:12 AMAnother tough one is sourcing. Many a-list bloggers thru d-list bloggers fail to ack the source of the material. I almost always have a Source: ThisGuy at the end of the post, if I can't otherwise link back to the source of the material.
check out my blogs for samples of these

Fri, November 5, 2004 - 8:33 AMThanks Dude, I will. Are you the "Real Geek"? If so, thanks for posting on my blog. I am a doctoral student mired in a lot of coursework at the moment...thus I have not been updating very often.
Peace,
